WORCESTERSHIRE BATTER ADAM HOSE REALISING LONG-TERM AMBITION BY PLAYING IN BIG BASH LEAGUE

Adam Hose will realise an ambition he first had sights on achieving more than a decade ago when he plays in the 2022-2023 Big Bash League.

Worcestershire’s new signing will be playing for Adelaide Strikers, who are coached by Jason Gillespie.

It will follow on from Hose’s spells in the Super Smash for Wellington in 2018-2019 and this year in the Hundred for Northern Superchargers and in the Caribbean Premier League for St. Lucia Kings.

Hose, who has signed a three-year contract with Worcestershire, has previous experience of playing in Australia and in 2012 was part of the Darren Lehmann Academy.

He said: “I’ve done a few stints in Adelaide and South Australia from a young age.

“Right from my first time over there, when I was 18, it has always been a big ambition of mine, on the goal list, to play in the Big Bash League.

“When that opportunity came around, myself and my family were absolutely over the moon, and it’s something I’m really excited about.”

Hose added: “I think those previous tournaments have helped my development. From a player’s point of view, you want to try and expose yourself to as many different environments and conditions as possible.

“The Super Smash, the Caribbean Premier League and The Hundred are all very different competitions, so learning to adapt as quickly as possible is really important.

“If you can keep adding tools to your bag as a player, you know you will become more of an all-round individual and cricketer. Hopefully, that is only beneficial.
