TRIO OF WOMEN’S RAPIDS PLAYERS EARN FURTHER SPOT ON SPARKS ACADEMY

A trio of Worcestershire Women’s Rapids players are part of the Central Sparks Academy intake for 2022-2023.

Ellie Anderson, Charis Pavely and Hannah Hardwick have been included in the Sparks 12 strong intake.

The trio were also members of the inaugural Sparks Academy intake, which was announced in February 2021.

Anderson, Pavely and Hardwick were part of the Women’s Rapids side which won the ECB T20 County Cup Group Two and finished runners-up in the West Midlands Regional Cup last summer.

Anderson and Pavely were recently selected as part of England’s squad for the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa in January.

Central Sparks Academy is one of eight regional academies within the women’s elite domestic structure.

It represents a new step on the women’s and girls’ cricket playing pathway that stretches from All Stars to playing for England Women.

Regional academies exist as part of the new Women’s Elite Domestic structure to offer outstanding, relevant learning and development environments to talented female cricketers in England and Wales.

Each regional academy provides individualised support at a vital stage of player development and plays a central role in embedding a high-quality Women’s Elite domestic competition in future years, alongside developing future England cricketers.
