WOMEN’S RAPIDS LOOKING TO MAINTAIN 100 PER CENT RECORD IN REGIONAL CUP

Worcestershire Women’s Rapids will look to end their West Midlands Regional Cup group programme with a 100 per cent record when they take on Staffordshire at Halesowen CC tomorrow (Sunday).

The Rapids are already assured of a place in next Sunday’s final (August 27) at Kenilworth Wardens after defeating Cricket Wales and Warwickshire.

Key batter Georgina Macey is set to make her first senior appearance of the season against Staffordshire after returning from maternity leave.

Macey was the Rapids leading scorer last summer with 295 runs in eight innings, including three half centuries.

She played a key role in them winning the ECB Women’s County T20 Group Two title and finishing runners-up in the West Midlands Regional Cup.

Another batter in Gaby Basketter is also back available tomorrow with Clare Boycott  again skippering the side and play getting underway in the 50 over competition at 11am.
