OVERSEAS ROUND-UP | RODERICK HITS UNBEATEN CENTURY TO SEAL TWO WICKET WIN

Gareth Roderick scored an unbeaten century to steer Green Point CC to a two wicket win over Western Province CC in a Western Province Premier Division fixture.

The Worcestershire keeper-batter struck exactly 100 not out from 98 balls as Green Point reached a 279 target with three balls to spare.

It continued Roderick’s excellent form and his last six knocks have produced scores of 59, 7, 78, 86, 31 and 100 not out.,

Green Point captain Roderick came to the wicket at 87-2 and added 76 for the fourth wicket with Adam Scher (31).

His side looked on course for a comfortable win at 259-5 but then three wickets fell for seven runs before number 10, Simphiwe Yiba, hit the winning six in the 50th over.

Roderick had early taken catches to dismiss three of the top four Western province batters as they slipped from 165-0 to 278-7.

Ethan Brookes was also on the winning side for Prahran CC who defeated Essendon CC by 93 runs in a Victorian Premier Cricket first grade encounter.

Brookes made 23 off 37 balls and added 55 for the third wicket with Damon Egan before he was third out at 154 in a total of 222 all out in 49 overs.

He then picked up the wicket of Muhammad Arsalan (9) and had figures of 5-1-23-1 as Essendon were bowled out for 129 in 42.5 overs.

Ed Pollock scored 19 off 28 balls in a St. George CC total of 371 all out in 92 overs on day one of the New South Wales first grade meeting with Sutherland who finished on 0-1 from two overs.

Josh Baker made five not out batting number eight for Northern District CC (300-7 declared) on day one of the New South Wales second grade fixture versus Eastern Suburbs.

Baker then bowled one over – a maiden – as Eastern Suburbs closed on 5-0.

Adam Finch was not called into action on day two for Sturt CC who chased down a 266 target to win their South Australia Cricket Association Premier Cricket meeting with Southern District CC by eight wickets.
