LIBBY NAMED IN BBC TEAM OF THE SEASON

Worcestershire opener Jake Libby has been named in the BBC County Championship team of 2023.

The opener was chosen by 31% of those who voted via the BBC Sport website and App during the past week.

It is recognition richly deserved for Libby who today scored his fourth century of the season against Yorkshire at Headingley.

His tally of 1153 runs is Libby’s highest ever aggregate for a season.

He became only the seventh Worcestershire player to reach 1,000 runs in a season on two or more occasions since 2000.

Libby’s opening partner in the BBC team of 2023 is Durham’s Alex Lees and nine counties were represented.
