Worcestershire CCC will celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2015 and plans are already taking shape at New Road to ensure it will be a year to remember.
It is fitting that the county will be playing top flight cricket to mark the milestone after the splendid achievements of this summer ensured promotion to Division One of the LV = County Championship.
But away from the action there will be a stream of events taking place throughout the 12 months with details expected to be announced in the next few weeks.
Worcestershire business director Jon Graham said: "We see this as a January to December initiative and there are some things we will be doing very early on to try and keep that in people's minds, that it is a different year for us, a big celebration.
"The events will be anything from big outdoor events weather permitting, if we can do the right deals, through to your traditional retrospective views.
"We've got a new chairman and president coming into the club and I'm sure they are going to want to get involved in what is a perfect year to start.
"There will be different things. We can take advantage of all our new facilities and now we've got a hotel on site, if we can do something a bit different and maybe pull people in from further afield, then all the better.
"There will be things we will do with the kit as well to hopefully have a bit of an exclusive range just for the 150th year. The merchandising element will be good.
"We've got a lot of our business partners who want to get involved and we've got a committee that will be forming in the next few weeks and will be anything from ex players to current employees to existing board members."
Graham added: "I'd expect every month all the way through 2015, we will have something specifically just for the 150th year celebrations because I think everyone is going to want to get involved.
"There will be some events for some people and some events for others and we will try and make sure we include everyone."
