Worcs Overseas Player Henry Holds Up Australia With Highest Test Score

Worcestershire 2016 overseas player Matt Henry hit his highest Test score to help New Zealand delay Australia's victory push in the second Test in Christchurch.

Henry came in at 210-7 with the Black Caps only 75 ahead and the match seeming set for a three-day finish.

But the 24-year-old paceman added 118 for the eighth wicket with BJ Watling.

Henry, who is playing his fourth Test, made 66 off 93 balls with 12 boundaries before he was ninth out at 335 with Watling making 46.

The loss of the last three wickets for seven runs after the Henry-Watling stand was broken meant that Australia were left a final target of 201.

They reached 70-1 by the close of play for the loss of David Warner.

Henry came into the attack first change and bowled four overs for 17 runs.

He will be linking up at New Road in early April for the first half of the campaign through until the end of June.
