The Worcestershire Cricket Society will stage their second meeting of the 2014-2015 winter programme in the Graeme Hick Pavilion this evening (Tuesday) from 7.30pm.
Worcestershire CCC website editor John Curtis will present a light-hearted quiz evening comprising questions on sport, general knowledge and music amongst others.
Please feel free to participate as an individual or join up with some friends to form a team – and if possible please bring pens and paper.
For the rest of the winter a mixture of players and various authors will be entertaining the Cricket Society members on the second Tuesday of each month through to March.
Gary Sobers six sixes for Nottinghamshire against Glamorgan in 1968 will be recalled by author Grahame Lloyd and John Parkin – the batsman at the non striker's end – on December 9.
Lloyd wrote a superb book on that famous over entitled 'Six Of The Best.' Mince pies will also be served that evening.
A current Worcestershire CCC player will give his thoughts at the January 13 meeting.
The following month author and Radio Five Live's Patrick Murphy will make a return visit (February 10).
The winter programme will end on March 10 with a visit from Isabelle Duncan, author of 'Skirting The Boundary' – a history of women's cricket.
For anyone wishing to join the Worcestershire Cricket Society, the membership fee is £15 for one person and £20 for a double membership or you can pay £3 for each evening as a non-member.
