Worcestershire CCC pathway player Adam Finch has been called into the Midlands squad for the Super Fours which will be held from August 23 to 27 at the National Performance Centre in Loughborough.
Pace bowler Finch, who has been part of the Worcestershire CCC satellite academy working under Dave Manning in Staffordshire, was originally on stand-by for the four-team tournament.
But he has been drafted in as a replacement by the Midlands for Warwickshire's Liam Banks who will instead be playing in the trial day-night game against Worcestershire Seconds at Edgbaston on August 22 to 24.
Finch joins full Worcestershire Academy member, left arm spinner Josh Haynes, in the Midlands squad for a competition which in effect is the Under-17s equivalent of the Bunburys.
The tournament will offer the cream of the players in that age group the opportunity to show off their skills in front of watching England Development Programme coaches and selectors.
Worcestershire Academy coach Elliot Wilson confirmed: "We've had a call-up yesterday for Adam Finch because Liam Banks has withdrawn from the Super Fours and they've asked Adam to go in as his replacement.
"Josh and Adam will go off after the weekend's cricket and will have a really good week's cricket up at Loughborough.
"Adam is from Himley Cricket Club, has been with us for the past 12 months, and has had a really impressive 12 months in our opinion.
"He is an opening bowler who is a year young so it is a good opportunity to provide a little bit of cover but also to give him some experience ahead of next year."
The Midlands will participate in a round-robin 50-over competition also involving London and East, North and South West.
