Worcestershire CCC Academy player Josh Haynes has been selected for the Super Fours which will be held from August 23 to 27 at the National Performance Centre in Loughborough.
It is a second Super Fours call-up for left arm spinner Haynes who has been chosen to represent the Midlands in what is in effect the Under-17s equivalent of the Bunburys.
The tournament will offer the cream of the players in that age group the opportunity to show off their skills in front of watching England Development Programme coaches and selectors.
Last year Josh Haynes was one of six Worcestershire players who helped the Midlands to win the prestigious tournament.
Four of those players in Ben Twohig, Josh Tongue, Zen Malik and Josh Dell were recently selected for the England Under-19s squad against Sri Lanka Under-19s.
The other member, Nick Hammond, this week scored a century and 73 for the Academy in 50 over matches against Ireland Under-17s at Stourbridge.
The Midlands will participate in a round-robin 50-over competition also involving London and East, North and South West.
Two other Worcestershire players in pace bowler Adam Finch and batsman George Newton are on stand-by for the Midlands and the North respectively.
Newton qualifies for the North as opposed to the Midlands after being nominated by his county Cheshire.
Players qualify for the Super-Fours by initially being nominated as potential candidates by their respective academy coaches-directors.
They are watched by national scouts and then scouts and selectors from each region before the eventual squad is chosen at a final trial.
