Worcs All-Rounder Whiteley Top Of Batting Averages For Struggling Prospect Cc

Ross Whiteley is top of the batting averages but his side Prospect CC are currently occupying bottom position in the South Australian Cricket Associuation 'A' grade table after going down on first innings to visiting Kensington in a two-day fixture.

Worcestershire all-rounder Whiteley has scored 250 runs at an average of 50 with a strike rate of 66.5 and a tally of nine sixes.

Whiteley, who was voted the county's T20 Player of The Year, also picked up his first two wickets of the winter campaign against Kensington.

But Prospect have failed to win any of their opening five games.

Kensington won the toss and scored 314-9 in 90 overs despite Whiteley making a double breakthrough after coming on as second change bowler.

Prospect never threatened to reach their sizeable target and in their first innings were bowled out for 140 in 60.5 overs.

Whiteley came in at number five and was one of only three players to reach double figures in making 16 off 41` balls with three fours.
