The draw for the first-ever Vitality T20 Women’s County Cup has been revealed.
The tournament will feature 37 teams from across the three tiers of the women’s domestic structure in a knock-out format, creating opportunities for thrilling underdog stories as Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams challenge fully professional Tier 1 sides. For Worcestershire, it offers a chance to make their mark on this exciting new chapter of the women’s game.
In Round One, the Rapids will travel to face Northamptonshire Steelbacks on Monday, 5 May, with the winner advancing to Round Two to face either Shropshire or Norfolk.
A New Era for Women’s Cricket
The Vitality T20 Women’s County Cup is part of a revamped structure for women’s cricket, showcasing the growing strength and depth of the women’s game in England and Wales. The competition will run across May, with fixtures taking advantage of Bank Holiday weekends, culminating in a three-match Finals Day at The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton, on Monday, 26 May. The tournament will crown the first domestic champions of 2025.
With the Rapids looking to build on the momentum of their recent elevation to Tier 2 status, the draw presents an opportunity to test themselves against high-quality opposition and aim for a spot on Finals Day.
