Several Worcestershire players are in contention to lift silverware as they approach the end of their winter spells in Australia.

Ed Pollock’s side, St. George CC, are amongst the favourites to win the New South Wales Premier Cricket first grade competition.

They head the table and already through to the play-offs after winning their opening 13 matches before being beaten for the first time at the weekend.

St. George have picked up 80 points from their 14 games and have a 14 point advantage over Josh Baker’s side, Northern District CC, who are currently their nearest challengers and also well placed to qualify for the knockout stages.

Adam Finch’s club, Sturt CC, are leading the way in the South Australia Cricket Association Premier Cricket first grade tournament and strongly placed to reach the playoffs.

They have won seven of their opening eight fixtures and their 165 points gives them a 45 point advantage over Northern Districts CC.

Ethan Brookes side, Prahran CC, are involved a much tighter battle for title honours in the Victorian Premier Cricket first grade competition.

Prahran currently are top of the table with 62 points after winning 10 of their 14 games.

But Carlton CC are only one point behind, having also won 10 matches, and they have a game in hand.

The Worcestershire players are due to play their final games in Australia on March 9 before flying back home for pre-season training at Kidderminster from March 18.
