New signing Gareth Roderick will make his first appearance for Worcestershire CCC in the two-day friendly with Somerset at Taunton beginning tomorrow.
Batsman Roderick is part of a 12 strong party after switching to New Road from Gloucestershire on a three-year contract.
It also includes Club Captain Joe Leach while Alex Milton will be keeping wicket against last summer’s Bob Willis Trophy runners-up.
Worcestershire Head Coach Alex Gidman says the aim is to give everyone in the squad an opportunity during the opening two warm-up games.
He said: “Everyone has worked extremely hard over pre-season, so we feel it is only right that everyone gets an opportunity to have a game in the middle.
“What we are working towards is a squad that are all capable of playing in the first team.
“We are developing a very competitive squad, so we are looking forward to seeing all the guys play and giving them an opportunity to go and perform.”
