Worcestershire County Cricket Club has teamed up with Worcester Foodbank as its official charity partner for 2023 and is kicking off the partnership with a chocolate egg collection.
The Club is calling on its members, supporters, and the local community to donate chocolate eggs, which will be transported to Worcester Foodbank’s Lowesmoor location for distribution as part of its weekly food parcels.
Worcester Foodbank has been serving the local community for a number of years and over the past 12 months have fed over 15,000 people, including 40% children, and providing over 130 tonnes of food, which translates to 190,000 meals.
How to Participate and Donate
To participate, simply drop off your donated chocolate eggs at the New Road reception between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday. The deadline for donations is Monday, April 3, 2023.
Worcestershire CCC Chair Fanos Hira expressed his admiration for the scale and impact of Worcester Foodbank, saying, “I have been taken aback by the scale of the operation and the vast difference they are making in the local community.”
He added, “We will be encouraging as many people as possible to donate chocolate eggs for distribution across their network, this is an excellent way to get things going with our partnership. We look forward to helping them further throughout the year.”
