WORCESTERSHIRE CCC XI IN ACTION AGAINST SHROPSHIRE

A Worcestershire CCC XI will be hoping for more success tomorrow (Sunday) when they take on a Shropshire CC First XI at Wellington CC in a 50 over match (11am start).

They triumphed last weekend over a Herefordshire CC First XI by 76 runs via the Duckworth Lewis Method at Brockhampton CC in another 50 over match.

Alex Milton top-scored with 81 and opener Josh Dell hit 67 and the duo are also part of tomorrow’s 13 strong squad which will be again captained by Ed Bragg.

Milton and Henry Cullen will again share the wicket-keeping duties tomorrow in a side which is a mixture of professionals and Academy players.

Milton struck seven boundaries in his 84 ball knock against Herefordshire and Dell one six and 11 fours from just 48 balls as Worcestershire XI totalled 304-7 after electing to bat.

Milton added 100 in 16 overs for the third wicket with Pete Clark (43) and 62 in nine overs for the fourth wicket with Ross Whiteley (39).

In reply Herefordshire totalled 199-8 in 42 overs. Ben Twohig (2-40), Dillon Pennington (2-39), Reeve Evitts (1-11), Ben Parker (1-17), Whiteley (1-28) and Josh Dickenson (1-45) were the wicket-takers.

*Worcestershire CCC Under-18s match against Shropshire Under-18 at Worfield CC on Friday was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

The Under-18s went down by six wickets to Wales at Kidderminster CC. Worcestershire totalled 148 with Josh Dickenson (34) and Henry Cullen (26) the main contributors.

Josh Baker bowled an excellent spell of 9-5-9-1 for Worcestershire before Wales triumphed by six wickets. Dickenson (1-32) and Ed Bragg (1-34) were the other wicket-takers.
