the county’s squad and coaches reported back today after a two week break for the festive season.
the 2018 vitality blast winners assembled at malvern college which will be their base for much of the next two months.
prior to christmas, the accent during november and december was on strengthening and conditioning work under the supervision of ross dewar.
but now the players will focus primarily on the technical side of their game at what has become their main winter base for such work in recent years although s and c is still combined with this programme.
the new look team of first team coach alex gidman, assistant coach-bowling coach alan richardson, head of player and coaches development, kevin sharp, academy coach elliott wilson and coaches andy sutton and ryan d’oliveira will be putting the squad through their paces.
amongst those who reported for duty are new worcestershire signing riki wessels.
he has made the move to New Road on a three year contract from nottinghamshire.
