Adam Finch has been amongst the wickets today after Worcestershire CCC gave permission for the paceman to join Surrey on a short term loan.
Finch picked up four wickets on the third day of the Bob Willis Trophy encounter with Essex at Chelmsford.
He dismissed opener Nick Browne with the new ball – caught behind – and returned to account for Varun Chopra – at point – Adam Wheater – third man – and Simon Cook lbw.
It gave him the splendid figures of 4-38 from his 12 overs.
Surrey have injury problems in their bowling department and Head Coach Vikram Solanki approached Worcestershire about a temporary move for Finch.
The arrangement can be reviewed on a week to week basis with Worcestershire having the right to instantly recall Finch.
Worcestershire Cricket Steering Group Chairman Paul Pridgeon said: “Surrey have a few injury problems and Vikram contacted us and asked if they could take Adam on a short term loan.
“He has shown a lot of promise and is one of our crop of promising bowlers and it will be great experience for him. To have got those wickets today will be great for his confidence.”
Academy product Finch made his first class debut last summer against Lancashire at Blackfinch New Road and played in seven County Championship matches plus the tour game versus Australia.
