Worcestershire CCC Academy are gearing up for four Royal London Under-17 County Cup matches in the space of five days – starting with tomorrow’s (Sunday’s) encounter with Somerset at RGS Worcester.
Academy Coach Elliot Wilson has named a 12 strong squad for the opening game in the 50 over competition which will get underway at 11am with free admission.
RGS Worcester will also host Worcestershire’s second home Group 4A match on Wednesday versus Devon.
Either side of that fixture the County will make the trip to Rockhampton CC to face Gloucestershire on Tuesday and then Totton and Eling CC on Thursday to do battle with Hampshire.
Last summer Worcestershire tied with Devon and went down to Hampshire, Somerset and Gloucestershire but there were some notable individual performances.
Xavie Clarke scored 72 against Gloucestershire and then Pete Clark and Zain Ul-Hassan struck half centuries versus Devon when both sides scored 256.
Clark will skipper the side tomorrow with Robbie Hardwick keeping wicket.
