head coach kevin sharp has confirmed that on loan nottinghamshire paceman luke wood will remain with worcestershire until the end of the vitality blast group campaign.
worcestershire announced on july 3 that wood had joined the rapids on a 28 day loan.
he has played in all seven completed blast games to date plus the specsavers county championship match with somerset at New Road.
but his spell at the club will also incorporate the remaining six blast matches with the exception of the two matches against his parent county – at trent bridge on saturday and the return on august 12.
sharp said: “luke is available to play in the remaining blast matches except those involving nottinghamshire.”
wood, aged 22, has impressed the county’s head bowling coach alan richardson.
he said: “we’ve had a few injuries with our seamers and we called in luke on loan and he has been excellent and fitted in brilliantly.”
