WOMEN’S RAPIDS SPINNER SHINES FOR ENGLAND BEFORE RAIN INTERVENES

WOMEN’S RAPIDS SPINNER SHINES FOR ENGLAND BEFORE RAIN INTERVENES

A superb performance by Worcestershire Women’s Rapids leg spinner Sarah Glenn proved in vain as England Women were denied by the rain in the third ODI with Pakistan in Kuala Lumpur.

Glenn demolished the Pakistan top order during a deadly spell of four wickets in the space of five overs at the Kinrara Oval.

She finished with the excellent figures of 8-1-18-4 to follow on from her 2-38 and 2-37 in her first two appearances for her country.

But, after Pakistan had reached 145-8 in 37.4 overs, no more play was possible as the heavens opened.

Glenn and England had to be satisfied with a 2-0 win in a series where points count towards the ICC Women’s Championship.

Glenn was the sixth bowler used and quickly she split the opening partnership of 96 by Nahida Khan (55) and Javeira Khan (37).

They were dismissed in successive overs and it became three scalps in three overs when Glen accounted for Kaynat Hafeez (4).

A further success for Glenn came in sending back Nida Dar (1).
