Worcestershire Women’s Rapids leg spinner Sarah Glenn made a successful debut for England Women in their 75 run triumph over Pakistan in today’s opening ODI in Kuala Lumpur.

Glenn, who also plays for Loughborough Lightning in the Kia Super League, picked up two wickets as Pakistan were bowled out for 209 in 44.4 overs.

She accounted for keeper Sidra Nawaz (1) and the last wicket to fall of Nashra Sandhu was lbw for a duck.

Glenn, who was the fifth bowler used, ended with the excellent figures of 9.4-1-38-2.

England had earlier amassed 284-6 from their 50 overs thanks largely to openers Tammy Beaumont (107) and Danielle Wyatt (101) who put on 188 in 34 overs.

They are playing three ODIs and three T20Is in Malaysia. The three ODIs form part of the ICC Women’s Championship.

Last summer Glenn showed her talent in finishing with 16 wickets for the Rapids in the ECB County Championship 50 over competition at 19.94 runs apiece and with an economy rate of 3.68.

She also collected four scalps in the ECB T20 tournament with an economy rate of only 4.05 runs per over.

For Loughborough, Glenn was their joint leading wicket-taker in the Kia Super League with 11 at an average of 18.72.

The second ODI takes place at the same venue – the Kinrara Oval – on December 12.
