Alex Willerton picked up four wickets on his Worcestershire Seconds debut in the Second Eleven Championship match with Northamptonshire Seconds at Kidderminster.
The 23-year-old, who plays Minor Counties cricket for Lincolnshire, shared the new ball and ended with 4-41 from 17 overs.
He dismissed the Northants openers, including Sam Arthurton who made 53, and picked up two wickets in the middle order as the visitiors slipped to 150-6 at one stage.
But then Miles Richardson (57) and Simon Branston (66) added 96 for the seventh wicket and 47 from Jason Jakeman helped them reach 325 all out.
Alex Hepburn was the other main wicket-taker, bowling 23 overs and finishing with 3-76.
Worcestershire were then given a solid start to their reply by skipper George Rhodes and Academy player Ollie Westbury.
They reached 90-0 from 24 overs without giving a chance before the close with Rhodes ending on 43 and Westbury 35.
Another player making his debut for Worcestershire was Ben Kohler-Cadmore, the 23-year-old brother of Tom.
Ben has played for the past five years for Driffield Town in the Yorkshire Premier League and had a spell previously with Evesham in the Birmingham Premier League. He has also turned out this winter for the Royal Navy in the International Defence Cricket Challenge.
