Ross Whiteley’s team, Maratha Arabians, are through to the semi-finals of the inaugural T10 tournament in Sharjah.
The Worcestershire all-rounder was part of the side which overcame Punjabi Legends in the play-off match by 14 runs today.
The Arabians will now take on Kerala Kings in the second semi-final tomorrow with the final to follow afterwards.
In the first semi-final Punjabi Legends – who qualified despite losing to Whiteley’s side – will face Pakhtoons.
The Arabians notched up 130-6 in their 10 overs with South African batsman Rilee Rossouw again in fine form with 67 off 27 balls including six sixes and five fours.
Whiteley came in at number five and made eight off six balls with one boundary before being caught and bowled by Dawlat Zadran.
The Legends fell short of their target on 116-3 despite 56 off 31 balls from New Zealand keeper Luke Ronchi.
