Ross Whiteley’s side, Maratha Arabians, overcame Team Sri Lanka to chalk up their first win in the inaugural T10 League in Sharjah.
The Worcestershire all-rounder helped his side bounce back from losing to Pakhtoons by 25 runs in their opening game by registering a five wicket success off the final ball.
Whiteley came into the side at number five for his first game in the competition after ending his stint in the Bangladesh Premier League with Sylhet Sixers.
He hit Vishwa Fernando for six over long on in the penultimate over as the Arabians chased a 126 target.
Whiteley was dismissed off the next delivery after making nine off four balls – run out attempting a second run to deep fine leg.
But his team pulled the game out of the fire thanks to the efforts of South African Rilee Rossouw.
He smashed the final two deliveries of the match from Sri Lankan Thikshila Silva over the ropes to secure the two points.
*Moeen Ali was dismissed for a second ball duck on the second day of the third Ashes Test in Perth.
The Worcestershire all-rounder was caught at second slip by Aussie skipper Steve Smith off Pat Cummins.
