Ross Whiteley and England Lions are heading for a winner takes all decider against Pakistan 'A' in the best of five T20 series in Dubai on Wednesday.
The Worcestershire all-rounder was part of the Lions team which defeated Pakistan by five wickets with 11 balls to spare today at the same venue to level the series at 2-2.
Whiteley had only a brief role to play as an unbeaten 61 from Sam Billings saw the Lions to victory in pursuit of a 117 target.
The former Derbyshire player came to the wicket at 103-4 in the 17th over and struck his first delivery from Kashif Bhatti for six over long on.
But it was his only scoring stroke before he edged paceman Junaid Khan through to keeper Saifullah Bangash.
Billings faced just 48 balls and his partnership of 94 with Liam Dawson (37) rescued the Lions from being 9-3.
Pakistan 'A' had been put into bat and were restricted to 116-9 in their 20 overs.
Reece Topley, Tom Curran and Dawid Malan all picked up two wickets for the Lions who have now come from 1-0 and 2-1 behind in the series.
