Wayne Parnell is Worcestershire’s highest ranked player in the Professional Cricketers’ Association Most Valuable Player rankings encompassing all formats of county cricket this summer.
The South African all-rounder is currently in 17th spot for his performances in the Specsavers County Championship, Royal London One-Day Cup and Vitality Blast.
He has amassed 317.43 points at an average of 12.70.
The next best placed Worcestershire players are Ed Barnard is 27th – 289.55 points at 9.65 – and Riki Wessels 42nd – 249.78 at 8.33.
In terms of the individual competitions, Wessels is best placed in the Blast with 86.09 points at an average of 8.61 followed by Parnell in 30th place – 84.09 at 8.41 with Barnard 42nd – 77.32 at 7.73.
Parnell finished fifth in the One-Day Cup rankings with 123.52 points at an average of 13.72 – the sole Worcestershire player in the top 50.
Club Captain Joe Leach leads the way for Worcestershire in the Championship and he has climbed to 25th position with 179.22 points at 17.92 with Barnard placed 40th – 159.70 at 14.52.
Leach finished in the top 10 of the overall PCA MVP county rankings in 2016, 2017 and 2018 – a reflection of his remarkable consistency in four-day cricket – and was also well placed last summer before suffering his back injury.
The PCA launched its Most Valuable Player Rankings for the 2007 domestic season.
