Opener Ollie Walker hit an unbeaten 132 as Worcestershire CCC Academy sealed a spot in the second round of the Graham Williamson Trophy with a 35 run win over Halesowen at Seth Somers Park.
Walker, part of the Academy 2021-2022 intake, struck nine sixes and nine fours in his 123 ball knock as Worcestershire totalled 235-3 after being put in to bat.
It was the highest team total of the day in the 40 over Birmingham Premier League competition.
Walker shared in an opening stand of 121 with Ismail Mohammed, who was unfortunate to be run out two short of a half-century.
Oliver Cox, with 36 off 31 balls, helped Walker add a further 70 for the second wicket.
Halesowen were on the back foot after Reeve Evitts (2-21) made two early breakthroughs.
Captain Joe Stanley then worked his way through the middle order and picked up three wickets, including Halesowen captain and former Worcestershire batter Alexei Kervezee.
He ended with 3-35 from eight overs as Halesowen were bowled out for 200 in 37.5 overs.
Jack Home (1-16), Olly Davidson (1-46), and Josh Dickenson (1-56) were the other wicket-takers.
Worcestershire will now travel to take on Barnt Green, the holders for the past three years, in the second round.
