TWOHIG STARTS ON COMEBACK TRAIL AFTER LIGAMENT INJURY

Worcestershire CCC spinner Ben Twohig has experienced his first competitive action since being ruled out of the 2019 season with a anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Twohig made his comeback for Unley CC in an Adelaide Turf Cricket Association T20 match against Marion CC – and ended on the winning side.

He only scored two batting at number five in Unley’s 107-8 after they had elected to bat but then bowled four tidy overs.

Twohig took the new ball and ended with figures of 4-0-23-0 as Marion were bowled out for 91 in 18.4 overs.

Twohig and County team-mate Ben Cox will have to wait to make their first appearance of the winter for Adelaide side Southern Districts.

There is no grade cricket taking place in the city this weekend which coincides with the Test match between Australia and Pakistan.

Josh Dell will be looking to help Mosman CC climb the table in the New South Wales Premier Cricket first grade competition when they start a two-day encounter against Northern Districts at the Allan Border Oval tomorrow (Saturday).

The Worcestershire batsman and his team-mates are currently lying in 17th spot in the 20-team table with two wins and four defeats from their opening six matches.

Dell has scored 269 runs with two half centuries at an average of 29.89 across all formats since flying out to Australia last month.
