Ben Twohig made a major contribution to Southern Districts five wicket win over Woodville in today’s South Australia Cricket Association Premier Cricket T20 Cup encounter.
The Worcestershire all-rounder picked up three wickets for 17 runs in his four overs as Woodville were bowled out for 107 in 19.5 overs.
He then hit an unbeaten 18 to see his side to victory with 2.4 overs to spare.
It enabled Southern Districts to complete back to back T20 wins after yesterday’s eight wicket success against West Torrens.
Twohig came into the attack for the fifth over which cost him eight runs.
He conceded just one run in the 10th over and in the 13th started Woodville’s collapse from 72-2 by bowling Dean Fry (9).
Twohig then struck with successive deliveries in final over – the 16th – to account for Ben Turley (31) and Aaron Summers (7) who was also bowled.
When Southern Districts batted, Worcestershire wicket-keeper batsman Ben Cox made 16 off 21 balls before he was third out with the total on 84.
Twohig, batting at number six, hurried his team across the finishing line as he struck one six and two fours.

A crowd of nearly 30,000 saw the Scorchers go down by eight runs at the Optus Stadium.
