ben twohig has swelled the ranks of worcestershire ccc players in action abroad this winter.
the worcestershire left arm spinner is to play for southern districts in the south australia grade cricket league.
twohig flew out to adelaide earlier this week to begin his two month stint with the stingrays.
last winter the 20-year-old spent six weeks in india practicing and developing his skills.
twohig will also attend several sessions at the darren lehmann cricket academy and be providing specialised coaching with the districts junior squads.
he will then report back to New Road at the start of march and look to build on last season’s first team breakthrough when he played seven specsavers county championship matches.
twohig has worked closely with the county’s spin bowling coach norman gifford since making his second team debut as a 15-year-old.
but he also acknowledged the help he received last summer from current worcestershire ceo and former county spinner left armer matt rawnsley who presented him with his cap at the kia oval before making his senior debut.
ed barnard, alex milton, ollie westbury and george rhodes have already been playing abroad this winter in either australia, south africa or new zealand.
