TWO WICKETS FOR RAPIDS STAR PAT BROWN ON RETURN TO ACTION

Vitality Blast hero Pat Brown returned to action after injury and picked up two wickets for the Worcestershire CCC Under-18 side in a T20 over match against Warwickshire Under-18s at Old Hill.

Brown, the Worcestershire Rapids leading Blast wicket-taker in 2018 and 2019, dismissed opener Daniel Khan (1) and then returned to the attack to account for Dinuk de Silva (2).

He finished with figures of 4-0-26-2.

Ed Bragg’s two early wickets helped reduced Warwickshire to 18-3, and two more late order scalps enabled him to finish with 4-22 after captain Joe Stanley (3-31) had taken care of the middle order.

Warwickshire were dismissed for 160 in19.3 overs after electing to bat, and then Worcestershire reached 70-1 in reply after Harry Cooke (39 off 25 balls) and Ismail Mohammed (22) put on 64 for the second wicket.

But then a cluster of wickets meant they were dismissed for 109 in 18.2 overs.

In Game Two, Oliver Halion struck a run a ball 52 with six boundaries for Worcestershire, who chose to bat first.

Cooke again batted well in making 35 off 23 deliveries, and the pair added 61 for the third wicket.

A quickfire 23 not out off 12 balls from Rehaan Edavalath lifted the final total to 145-5.

Warwickshire reached 106-1 in reply but were made to fight all the way before securing a six-wicket win off the final delivery of the 20 overs.

Cooke returned 2-35 and Bragg 1-32, and there were tight spells from Oliver Davidson (4-0-20-1) and Stanley (4-0-19-1).
