adam finch picked up two wickets as england under-19s went down by five wickets to bangladesh under-19s in an icc world cup fifth place play-off clash in queenstown.
the worcestershire paceman came back into the side for his second appearance of the tournament alongside county team-mate dillon pennington.
pennington, who has played four of the five games, took the new ball and bowled six overs for 33 runs before he was replaced by finch who struck in his first over.
aminul aslam (20) nicked a short of a length delivery outside the off stump through to the keeper.
finch, who like pennington is an academy product at New Road, made another breakthrough in his fourth over.
this time tawhid hridoy (10) miscued finch high up into the air and was taken at mid off to leave bangladesh on 82-3 in the 20th over.
but a side england had beaten in the group stages regrouped and went onto win with 15 balls to spare.
finch bowled an initial six over spell of 6-0-21-2 and ended with figures of 8-0-36-2.
england had been put in and reached 143-1 thanks to a stand of 126 in 20 overs between liam banks (74) and skipper harry brook (66) for the second wicket.
but they then collapsed to 216 all out with number nine finch (2) caught and bowled by spinner afif hossain and last man pennington (1) caught behind off the same bowler.
england will now new zealand in the seventh-eighth play-off match at the same venue on wednesday.
