Triallist Jordan Neil scored an unbeaten 86 for Worcestershire Seconds after they followed on in the Second Eleven Championship match with Leicestershire at Barnt Green.
Neil has been in prolific form for Appleby Frodingham in the Yorkshire Cricket Southern Premier League, scoring 578 runs in eight innings.
Neil hit 17 fours in his 137 ball knock as the Seconds closed on 171-4, still needing a further 218 runs to avoid an innings defeat.
Worcestershire resumed on 107-3 in their first innings in reply to Leicestershire’s 614-7 declared and Neil did not add to his overnight 26 before he was lbw to Ed Barnes in the opening over.
Joe Leach (23) was given out caught behind off Roman Walker before Henry Cullen and Ollie Walker added 68 for the fifth wicket.
Wicketkeeper Cullen top-scored with 41 from 65 balls with eight fours before he was caught at cover driving at spinner Freddie Fallows.
Walker (29) was dismissed in the first over after lunch when he carved Sam Wood to gulley and the same bowler accounted for Mitchell Stanley (0) at first slip and Ari Karvelas (4) off a leading edge at cover.
Cameron Jones hit a breezy 29 before he was run out to complete the innings.
Worcestershire followed on 389 runs in arrears and Ismael Mohammed (0) was caught down the legside.
Tom Fell, 46 off 54 balls with eight fours, and Neil added 69 for the second wicket.
Fell was caught behind off Gavin Griffiths and keeper Sam Bates picked up a third catch when Jacques Banton (7) drove at Huw Evans.
Leach (16) pulled a delivery from Wood into the hands of long leg but Neil and Cullen saw their side through to the close.
