Adam Finch picked up three wickets for Sturt on the opening day of the South Australia Cricket Association Premier Cricket first grade encounter against Adelaide University.

Finch made 20 not out in Sturt’s first innings of 112 all out in 37.4 overs after they had been put into bat.

He then took the new ball and removed top scorer Liam Greber (60) and Miles Hammond (42) and finished with figures of 8.1-3-19-3.

Cullen went in at number three and struck six boundaries in his 49-ball knock before being run out.

A century from Alex Cole helped Plenty Valley total 326-7 from 80 overs on day one, and then their bowlers dominated the remainder of the game.

Ivanhoe were bowled out for 136 in their first innings and were 83-7 when they followed on as Cullen, and his teammates came close to forcing the outright win.
