Moeen Ali is one of THREE Worcestershire CCC players past and present in the current top five of the latest ICC Test rankings for all-rounders.
The 30-year-old is currently occupying fifth position in the latest rankings with 378 points.
His best ever position was third in August and that is now filled by Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.
He played a key role in the County gaining promotion to Division One of the Specsavers County Championship with 20 wickets in four matches and important contributions with the bat.
But in top position is Bangladesh star Shakib Al Hasan who experienced two spells at New Road.
Moeen, who flew out to Australia on Saturday with England to prepare for the Ashes, is ranked 20th in the ICC Test bowling rankings with 608 points.
His England colleagues James Anderson, in top position, and Stuart Broad (10th) are ahead of Moeen on 896 and 737 points respectively.
Ashwin lies in fourth position (852 points) with Shakib 17th (668 points).
Former Worcestershire T20 player Steve Smith heads the ICC Test batting rankings on 937 points.
Moeen is ranked 28th (622 points) – behind Shakib (22nd on 655 points) but in front of Ashwin (52nd and 495 points).
