Worcestershire Supporters’ Association have funded a further net system for Worcestershire CCC at a cost of around £25,000.
The system, consisting of several hybrid SIS grass wickets, follows on from the Association purchasing an initial new £45,000 net complex two years ago.
Association Chairman, Andrew Jenkins, said: “The Association was delighted to fund the new netting system to add to the one purchased a couple of years ago.
“We all hope the players and coaches reap the benefits for many years to come.”
Worcestershire Cricket Steering Group Chairman, Paul Pridgeon, said: “A big thank you to the Supporters’ Association for their funding of these nets.
“As someone associated with this club for almost 50 years, I know just how much they have contributed to the club.
“They have been fantastic to us and provided all sorts of bits and pieces that we needed financially.
“ We wanted hybrid nets because they have a much longer life span and they are also much more resistant to flooding.”
