Worcestershire ended the season with more batting points than any other county in Division Two of the Specsavers County Championship.
The newly crowned champions clocked up 45 points out of a possible 70 – one more than runners-up Nottinghamshire.
Their tally of 39 bowling points out of a maximum available of 45 was only bettered by Nottinghamshire and Glamorgan.
Worcestershire registered nine victories to make it a grand total of 15 in their last 25 Championship matches.
It was almost an even split between home and away victories.
Five were achieved at New Road – against Northamptonshire, Kent, Gloucestershire, Leicestershire and Durham – and four on their travels – versus Glamorgan Derbyshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.
The Championship campaign was split into three contrasting thirds.
Worcestershire won the opening four games, managed just one victory in the next six, and then bounced back with another quartet of victories to end the campaign.
Northamptonshire were left to rue being deducted five bowling points for a slow over rate as, without those, they would have finished level with Nottinghamshire and been promoted instead of them courtesy of having registered more wins.
