Worcestershire duo Fateh Singh and Harry Darley both picked up four wickets when in action Down Under for Canterbury CC and Ulverstone CC respectively.
New Worcestershire signing Singh continued his prolific form on day two of the Eastern Cricket Association first grade encounter with East Doncaster.
The spinner came on first change and ended with figures of 17-9-26-4 after ripping through the middle order as East Doncaster were dismissed for 83 in 48.1 overs.
It followed on from his 45 off 48 balls on the opening day in a Canterbury total of 151 after they had been put in.
With the first innings points secured, Canterbury themselves reached 57-6 from 19.4 overs by the close with Singh dismissed for eight batting at number three.
Pace bowler Darley helped leaders Ulverstone to victory in their Cricket North West first grade two day fixture against Wynyard Tigers.
He had made the initial breakthroughs late on day one, removing both openers during a spell of 5-3-6-2, after Ulverstone had earlier scored 253-8 and continued in the same vein early on day two.
Darley made inroads into the middle order and finished with 11-5-16-4 as the Tigers were skittled for 58 in 33 overs.
He did not add to his wicket in five second innings overs but captain Alex Wynwoood was in inspired form with 14-1-36-7 as the Tigers were bowled out for 105 following on.
Worcestershire all-rounder Tom Taylor has helped Altona North to reach the semi-finals of the Victorian Cricket Association T20 competition – and a meeting on Tuesday (February 18) with Sunshine CC.
Taylor helped Altona to a three wicket victory over Sydenham Hillside in the Victorian Cricket Association T20 competition to seal the spot in the semis.
Taylor took the new ball and clean bowled Cameron West (2) to make the first breakthrough and then returned to dismiss Gayashan Weerasekara (9) with the final ball of the innings.
He finished with figures of 4-0-22-2, bowling his overs in three spells, as Sydenham were restricted to 120-8 in their 20 overs.
Taylor then went to the wicket at 9-1 and played a responsible knock of 29 off 32 balls to take his side to the verge of victory.
He added 43 for the second wicket with Haydn Wilkinson (31) and struck two sixes and one four before he was fourth out with the total on 97 in the 15th over.
Altona North went onto seal victory, reaching 121-7 with one over to spare.
Taylor and his team-mates had to endure a frustrating Saturday with the VCA first grade meeting with Haig Fawkner called off because of heavy rain.
