Worcestershire Head Coach Kevin Sharp is hopeful paceman Steve Magoffin will be available for selection for Friday’s Specsavers County Championship clash with Surrey at the Kia Oval.
Magoffin played in the opening two Championship games but was unavailable for the home clash with Nottinghamshire because of a hamstring strain.
But he bowled eight overs yesterday and will have another run-out today and tomorrow with a view to being in contention to face the Brown Caps.
Sharp said: “Steve Magoffin, all being well, he will be available for The Oval.
“He just had a tight hamstring at the end of the last game at Somerset and he has been working on that with the physio.
“He bowled eight overs yesterday, he will have another work-out today (Tuesday) and Wednesday and fingers crossed, he will be all set to go on Friday.”
Charlie Morris made his first senior appearance for 19 months as Magoffin’s replacement against Nottinghamshire.
