Worcestershire CCC have received a boost with Moeen Ali made available by England for all cricket starting with this Friday’s Vitality Blast clash with Durham Jets at the Emirates Riverside.
The England all-rounder and his team-mates wrap up the ODI Series against India in the decider at Headingley tomorrow (Tuesday).
Moeen has been appointed the table-topping Rapids official Blast captain for the 2018 campaign.
The 31-year-old is scheduled to make his first appearance of the season in the competition against the Jets.
Worcestershire Head Coach Kevin Sharp said: “Moeen always enjoys coming back and playing for us whenever he can.
“He is so highly respected and liked in our dressing room.”
Moeen’s international team-mate, Ben Stokes, has also been given permission to play in the Jets-Rapids encounter.
But Durham paceman Mark Wood has not been made available by England.
The Rapids now have a four day break from action before taking on the Jets.
Sharp said: “It will be a couple of days of active recovery, as they call it now, which will be a little bit of gym work and then there will be some practice on Wednesday and Thursday before we go to Durham.”
