Seeking To Find Worcs Ccc Families From Early Days Of The Club

Seeking To Find Worcs Ccc Families From Early Days Of The Club

In the few weeks since 'Pears 150' by Andrew Thomas was published, it has been good to reinforce, or re-establish, contact with several families important in Worcestershire CCC’s early days as highlighted in pages 30-34 in the book.

For example, we have modern links with the Coventrys, Lytteltons, Foleys, Somers-Cocks, Norburys, Berkeleys, several schools and organisations.

However, we would still like to trace descendants from many other families.

It’s a long-shot, at least five generations on, and a lengthy list, but the old club’s sesqui-centenary would seem as good a time as any to make the effort.

Do you know descendants of the following cricketers closely associated with WCCC long before first class status?

RJ Baker

EG / GE Bromley Martin

Rev MB Buckle

W Caldicott

Rev WB Cherry

LM Curtler

We are particularly keen to trace relatives of JS Isaac, and his sons, JEV Isaac (1880-1915), and AW Isaac (1873- 1916), once of Boughton Park, Worcester.

For early information about these players and WCCC officials, see Pears 150, on sale at the WCCSA Shop on match days, 540 pages with more than half a million words and 240 photographs, for £28.
