Worcestershire Seconds captain George Rhodes has been named in the Rapids squad for tomorrow's opening Royal London One-Day Cup group encounter with Derbyshire Falcons at New Road (11am).
Rhodes enjoyed a successful winter playing for North Canberra Gungahlin and has skippered the Seconds to victory in their opening two Championship matches of the summer against Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
The all-rounder top-scored this week with 61 not out in the Seconds T20 encounter against a strong Warwickshire side at Moseley.
Rhodes is part of a 12 man squad as the Rapids look to improve on previous performances in the competition.
Vice-captain Joe Leach says the Rapids will adopt "a fresh approach and different tactics" in the 50 over format this summer.
He said: "Everyone wants a chance to go Lord's and play in a final and get some silverware and we're no different to that.
"I think it is a competition that people have identified they can win now. Gloucestershire winning last year has blown the tournament wide open.
"We haven't been at our best in that but I think you will see a fresh approach and different tactics this year so again we will be confident that you will see a different side."
