Worcestershire Seconds will launch the 2024 season this weekend with three of their first four Championship matches at home.
They will take on Gloucestershire at Kidderminster in the opening four-day fixture brought forward a week and now getting underway on Saturday March 30.
Kidderminster and Barnt Green will each host two of the four home Championship matches this summer.
The number of red ball games has been reduced in 2024 from ten to eight.
The Second Eleven T20 tournament takes centre stage for most of May and June and includes back-to-back fixtures at New Road.
Gloucestershire will be the visitors on June 3 and Glamorgan 24 hours later.
After the usual break from action during parts of July and August – when the Metro Bank One Day Cup is staged – the Seconds will conclude the season with a block of three Championship matches.
Last summer they won six of their 10 Championship matches – the most since 1999 – and finished third.
But the Seconds also plays a big role in developing players and Rehaan Edavalath, Henry Cullen and Olly Cox went onto earn new professional contracts at New Road after playing for sizeable amounts of the 2023 campaign.
Edavalath and Cox are currently combining cricket with studying at Lougborough University and Exeter University respectively.
