Worcestershire Seconds are striving to emulate the senior team in also trying to secure a semi-final spot.
Coach Kevin Sharp's side are very much in the hunt to qualify for the last four of the Second Eleven Trophy.
They are currently lying in second spot in the table as the North Group heads towards its climax in the next few days.
Lancashire Seconds became the new group leaders as a result of Tuesday's eight wicket win over their Durham counterparts at Bowdon.
They have nine points from five games.
Worcestershire are one point behind on eight from five games with Yorkshire also having the same tally.
But when teams are level on points, positions are next decided by the team with the most wins – and Worcestershire have four victories and Yorkshire three.
Yorkshire complete their programme today (Friday) when they visit Durham at Brandon.
Then the battle to qualify from the group is set for a thrilling conclusion with Worcestershire facing Lancashire at Neston CC next Monday.
In the semi-finals – on June 2 – the winners of the North Group are at home to the runners-up in the South Group and the winners of the South Group play host to the second placed team in the North Group.
