Gareth Roderick has passed the 500-run mark for the winter while captaining Green Point CC, and is in the top five run-getters in the Western Province Premier Division for the 2023-2024 season.
The Worcestershire keeper-batter continued his impressive form last weekend with an unbeaten century against Western Province CC.
It took his overall tally to 504 runs in 12 innings at an average of 50.40 and, in addition to his hundred, he has also scored four fifties.
Only Christiaan Oberholzer (615), Derek Mitchell (602), Gavin Kaplan (565) and Tariq Chiektey (518) have scored more runs than Roderick, and two of those four batters have had two extra knocks.
Roderick had also been in impressive form the previous winter for Green Point with 620 runs at an average of 47.70 with six fifty plus scores.
Last summer he finished as Worcestershire’s second highest scorer behind Jake Libby in County Championship cricket with 696 runs and was promoted to open the innings during the second half of the campaign.
Roderick’s efforts have played a significant part in Green Point climbing the table after a slow start to the season.
They lost three of their opening four games but have won the last five and are now in fourth place in the Premier Division, with a game in hand on the sides above them.
