Gareth Roderick is part of the Worcestershire Seconds squad for today’s (Thursday’s) 50 over friendly with Herefordshire at Kidderminster (11am).
Worcestershire’s new signing from Gloucestershire is set to open the batting alongside Josh Dell.
Roderick, who signed a three-year contract, played in the first four LV=Insurance County Championship matches of the 2021 campaign.
Paceman Charlie Morris is also part of a 12 strong squad named by Seconds Coach Kadeer Ali in what will be, weather permitting, their first action for two and a half weeks.
Morris has featured in four County Championship matches this summer, picking up ten wickets, including the 200th of his career against Essex at Chelmsford.
Jacques Banton is fit to return to the side after suffering concussion when hit on the helmet during the Second Eleven Championship match at Taunton Vale last month.
Ross Whiteley will again captain the side with Alex Milton keeping wicket.
Kadeer said: “The lads have had some training sessions and practiced hard, but it will be good to get back into action.
“There is a busy month or so ahead with Second Eleven Championship, T20 and 50 over matches to come.”
