Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes says Worcestershire will fight for the wins and points needed to survive in Division One of the LV = County Championship as they look to bounce back from the disappointment of the defeat against Sussex at Hove.
The county failed to capitalise on a winning position in that encounter before going down by 61 runs and now tackle Somerset in a clash at at New Road starting tomorrow.
Rhodes said: "We've done well in parts of the games. The Sussex match, we were in the game for a long period of time.
"But on the other side of things, a little bit disappointed because the points were there for the taking against Sussex.
"Sadly we missed out on a fourth innings wicket that wasn't too bad.
"I do feel we've let one that get away there. In the Yorkshire game, they blew us away with some excellent bowling.
"The Sussex game was one that got away so we are going to have to deal with that and, if that makes life a little bit more difficult for us, then we will deal with that.
"We will fight and try and get some wins and points that are going to get us what we want which is to stay in that division."
