George Rhodes scored his maiden century for Worcestershire Seconds on the opening day of the three-day friendly match with Northamptonshire Seconds at Kidderminster today.
The 22-year-old surpassed his previous best score for the Seconds of 83 against Yorkshire at Barnt Green in 2012.
Rhodes went onto make 130 from 238 balls with 24 boundaries as Worcestershire were bowled out for 386 in 98 overs on the Chester Road ground after winning the toss and electing to bat.
He shared a second wicket stand of 105 with Tom Kohler-Cadmore who had opened the innings with skipper Matt Pardoe.
Kohler-Cadmore, who celebrated his 20th birthday yesterday, made an aggressive 76 off 79 balls with 14 boundaries.
Rhodes also featured in partnerships of 50, 51 and 73 with Ross Whiteley, Alex Hepburn and Alex Milton respectively.
Gemall Hussain was the most successful Northants bowler with figures of 5-95 including Rhodes who was eventually trapped lbw and sixth out with the total on 325.
