Worcestershire Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes gives his verdict to BBC Hereford-Worcester's Dave Bradley on the four wicket win over Derbyshire Falcons in the NatWest T20 Blast at the 3aaa County Ground.
Question: Another good win.
Steve Rhodes: "We could have played better. We didn't bring our 'A' game but once again to win when you don't play quite as well as you can do is a really good sign.
"We are delighted especiallyas some of the other sides around us won as well. The result was really important to us."
Question: Derbyshire made you scrap all the way?
Steve Rhodes: "I do like a lot of the things that are going on here at Derbyshire. I think Graeme Welch works hard and has got a good group of young players and a lot of them are English which is always nice.
"I think in a few years time they will be a real formidable force."
Question: Two lads who have not batted a lot (Ben Cox and Joe Leach) got you over the line?
Steve Rhodes: "Coxy has finished a few games for us now which is always really nice. We were delighted he could do that and also Leachy.
"We potentially lost our way a bit just after the powerplay. We didn't score too many in overs seven, eight and nine and that made life a little bit more difficult.
"But Ross Whiteley gave us some nice impetus towards the end and thankfully the two lads finished it off."
Question: Was 150 a good score to chase on that pitch?
Steve Rhodes: "I didn't think it was a bad score. I asked Ross and he thought they were a little bit under par and that 165 was a good score.
"But we knew we had to bat well to get there and Richard Oliver's 45 was very crucial."
Question: You fielding was outstanding again?
Steve Rhodes: "Over the last five yearsit is something we've worked really hard at, not just in practice. On match-days, we do quite a bit of fielding and ity is nice now to see us getting some reward for that work.
"We've added people like Ed Barnard now. He adds to the strength of the fielding group. He is only 19 and has plenty of enthusiasm and takes some nice catches.
"Tom Kohler-Cadmore has taken 11 catches out of 11 chances in the T20 which is fantastic, having a 100 per cent success rate."
Question: You are top of the group going into the last game, a good position to be in?
Steve Rhodes: "It is. We are delighted in the way the T20 season has gone and I think I mentioned after the last game that we want to try and finish the group really well because we want to take momentum into a quarter-final.
"We will be going hell for leather to try and beat Lancashire in our last game."
